Posted: 30 Mar 2007 I wonder what this weather and the changes from one day to the next as it has been lately from warm almost sunny days back to sub zero freezing winter days instead of a normal gradualy warming up period , what affect will it have on the breeding pattern on local lizard populations whos breeding cycles must be getting confused as to hibernate or stay awake with these suddern drastic tempeture changes of recent?. because it certainly is affecting me. keith LOCAL ICYNICAL CELTIC ECO WARRIOR AND FAILED DRUID |

Posted: 30 Mar 2007 I think biggish ranges in temperatures can be expected at this time of year and have been happening for many years. I don't think there is a gradual warming up period, it fluctuates from day to day. I was on Branscombe beach in Devon on Tuesday and it was hot. People were lying out in swimming costumes. Yesterday you would have needed gloves on probably.

Posted: 31 Mar 2007 Hi All One factor I think you should remember is length of day(light). This must let them know that it is spring......But they don't have to rush about. If it's to cold, they just conserve energy. And wait. Deano Better to be lucky than good looking. |
